Socks VM Bridge Adapter is a program that allows you to connect an individual virtual machine created in Virtualbox or VMware to anonymous Tor, SSH, and Socks networks. In other words, you can assign a separate network to each virtual machine! One will exit, for example, in Germany, another in France, a third in the USA, etc...
While Double SSH Tunnel Manager can only connect to one network at a time, Socks VM Bridge Adapter can create multiple networks and, accordingly, you can simultaneously connect several virtual machines to these networks.
The program is free for Tor and SSH (as well as in the Double SSH Tunnel Manager project)
PS: These are the first releases of the software, so small shoals are definitely inevitable so far.
What can this software be compared to? This software works by analogy with the Whonix gateway, only with a number of advantages:
- Such as your own DHCP server - this is when you do not need to register network settings in the OS itself and it connects automatically.
- This is the connection of not only TOR but also other protocols like Socks5/SSH, while in a different sequence of the network chain.
- Whonix is more designed for Virtualbox and you can only connect a virtual machine from Virtualbox to it. I use my Tap2tor transmitter, which in turn uses a virtual TAP adapter (the one used in OpenVPN)
- Other features that are not available in Whonix are described above
